A Summertime Welcome

Welcome to Mrs. Gaddy/Mrs. Kennedy's blog! In these last days of July, the summer mailing from WMPCS will be arriving at your homes, complete with supplies information and class rosters. Please take time to mark your August calendars for several important events:

Beautification Day: August 20, 9-12 am. This is your opportunity to get three volunteer hours in while getting to know the WMPCS family. A light lunch of pizza will be served. Also, you are welcome to donate to or peruse the clothes closet and select any uniform items that your child may need for the coming year.

3-6 Social: August 21, 2-4 pm. Come out with the family to chat with teachers, meet classmates, ask questions, and familiarize yourself with the campus.

Report between 2-3pm to the PreK room attached to the school's main office in Building 1; make sure one parent has his/her cell phone with important phone numbers as we do have parents complete a few forms for the new year. We usually take care of supplies fees and snack fees at this time. Please note that checks are allowed for the supplies fee, but cash is requested for snack fees.

After completing forms, we'll spend some time outdoors getting to know one another. It'll be hot, so beverages will be served, and the playground and wooded area will be open for families to enjoy for the second hour's social. Please dress comfortably!

First Day of School: August 25, 8:30 am. The staggered start is a method of allowing just a few preschoolers and kindergartners to get to know the teachers and classroom before the entire class is a whole. Approximately 8 students attend for 3 days (Aug. 25, 26, 29); next, a different set of 8 attends (Aug. 30, 31, Sept. 1); then, the last set of 8 attends (Sept. 2, 6, 7). Finally, all students will return on Thursday, September 8, to begin the school year officially as one class.
